Doctoral students starting before 1 September 2016 take a comprehensive examination instead of a complex examination. The subjects and the examination boards are appointed by the Council of the Doctoral School. The chairperson of the board is a professor of the University of Debrecen. The members of the board shall be researchers with at least a PhD degree, of whom the internal member shall be and the external member shall not be employed by the University of Debrecen. The members of the board shall not have co-authored publications with the candidate.
